Gif Recorder

Gif Recorder, a Windows application offered by AGORA Software, is made up of two components: Gif Screen Recorder, a handy tool that allows you to record whatever is on the screen and then encodes the recording as a GIF animation, and Animated Gif Editor, a user friendly tool that allows you to edit the aforementioned GIF animation.

The application can be installed on a machine powered by Windows XP (SP3), VISTA, Windows 7 and Windows 8. The installation process will go along smoothly and rapidly – download an executable, run it, click through the setup wizard. Please note that for Gif Recorder to work, you need to have .NET Framework 4.0 or newer. If it’s missing, it will automatically be installed.
It must be added here that Gif Recorder is also available as a portable version.

As mentioned above, Gif Recorder is made up of two components – the first one is the Gif Screen Recorder that will record whatever is displayed on the screen. From the dropdown menu located in the upper right hand corner you can choose between Normal and Photo Quality for the recording. From the dropdown located in the upper left hand corner you can set how much of the screen you want to record. You can choose between 640x480, 800x600, full screen, and more. The buttons to start, pause, and stop the recording are in the upper left hand corner.

Stop the recording and you will be asked to save it. After the application encodes it as a GIF, you will be presented with a prompt that features the following options: Open the GIF animation in the GIF Editor, Open the GIF Animation in a browser, Open the Folder Containing the GIF file, or do Nothing.

Choose the first option and the animation will be opened in the Animated Gif Editor, the second component of Gif Recorder. You will be able to view your animation, remove frames, add images, add subtitles, edit images, and save your creation.

Please note that Gif Recorder is free to try – a watermark will be placed on any animation you create.
